The authors determine the value distribution of the exponential sums of the form \(\sum\limits_{x\in \text{GF}(q)} \chi (p(x))\), where \(p(x)=ax^{p^k+1}+bx^2\) or \(p(x)=ax^{p^k+1}+bx^2+cx\) and \(q=p^m\). This information enables the authors to compute the weight enumerator polynomial of two specific infinite families of reducible cyclic codes.
