The authors extend two oscillation criteria obtained by the reviewer [J. Math. Anal. Appl. 229, No. 2, 399-416 (1999; Zbl 0921.34034)] for nonlinear differential equations of neutral type of the form \[ [x(t)+p(t)x(\sigma(t))]''+q(t)f(x(\tau(t)))g(x'(t))=0 \] and \[ [x(t)+p(t)x(\sigma(t))]''+q(t)f(x(t),x(\tau(t)))g(x'(t))=0. \]
