A procedure is developed to derive shape functions for tetrahedral mid- edge finite elements. Face-apex projectors are used in a maximal Boolean combination to produce an interpolant that finds applications in interpolation to boundary data over the tetrahedron. The maximal Boolean combination yields an interpolation function valid for a general tetrahedral mid-edge finite element when face-apex projectors are approximated by algebraic expressions involving maximal combinations of side-vertex projectors defined on tetrahedron faces.
