In this paper, the authors study some shape properties of covariant functors \(F: \mathrm{Comp}\to\mathrm{Comp}\) acting in the category of compacta. In the first half, the authors show that if \(F\) is a continuous functor preserving empty sets, points, ANR-compacta, preimages of maps, then \(F\) preserves movable compacta; if \(F\) is a continuous functor preserving empty sets, points, the point, ANR-compacta, then \(F\) preserves shape dominations and shape equivalences. They also discuss the problems for a continuous functor \(F\) to preserve fundamental dimension, shape dimension, and other notions in shape theory. In the second half, they characterize shape equivalences between infinite compacta using the space \(P(X)\) of probablistic measures on \(X\) and its subspaces.
