The category \textbf{Arch } of lattice-ordered groups and homomorphisms and the category \textbf{Tych} of Tychonoff spaces and continuous maps are studied. The concept of \(\alpha\)cc-disconnected for topological spaces is introduced for infinite cardinals \(\alpha\) and the symbol \(\alpha= \infty\) is used to denote no cardinal constraints. For example, \(\infty\)cc-disconnected coincides with extremally disconnected. It is shown that every Tychonoff space has a minimum \(\alpha\)cc-disconnected cover. Various examples and comparisons to other covers are provided, e.g., comparisons with \(\alpha\)-disconnected. An analogous concept related to disjointness conditions is considered for \textbf{Arch}, namely, \(\alpha\)cc-projectable lattice-groups. \(P\) is said to be a \textit{polar} if it is the orthogonal complement of the orthogonal complement of a set \(S\) (i.e., equal to \(S^{\perp\perp}\)) in a group \(G\), and \(\alpha\mathit{cc-polar}\) if every \(S\subset P\) pairwise disjoint has cardinality less than \(\alpha\). When these \(P\)s are in turn all summands in the group, the group is said to be \(\alpha\)cc-projectable. For the situation with weak order units and homomorphisms preserving weak order units, \(\alpha\)cc-projectable is characterized and it is established that the space of continuous functions on \(X\) is \(\alpha\)cc-projectable if and only if \(X\) is \(\alpha\)cc-disconnected. This is then related to the \(\alpha\)cc-hull of \(G\) and, among other results, it is demonstrated that not every hull class is epireflective.
