The author defines unilateral operator weighted shifts (UOWS) and bilateral operator weighted shifts (BOWS), with weight sequence of uniformly bounded linear operators on \(C^n\). First the author showed that if \(S\) is unitarily equivalent to some (OWS) whose weights are upper triangular matrices, its essential spectrum and its indices associated with holes in terms of scalar weighted shifts is completely described. Secondly, it is proved that if \(S\) is a (UOWS) and \(\sigma_e(S)\) is not connected then \(S\) is Banach reducible. Moreover ,the author proved that if \(S\) is a (UOWS), then \(S^*\) is a Cown-Douglas operator if and only if \(\sup_k\{\|W^{-1}_k\|\}<\infty\).
