The generator of a linear semigroup plays an important role to study the evolution equations in general Banach spaces. The aim of this paper is to study the problem of intertwining of the generators of linear semigroups. Recall that the intertwining property takes the form \(DA=BD\), where \(A\) and \(B\) are the generators of semigroups and \(D\) is a closed operator. The authors prove the equivalence of the intertwining property in terms of the generator, resolvent operator and semigroup. An application is given to determine the exact generator domain of the Schrödinger operator.
