The authors consider the following nonlinear boundary value problem for a system of first-order functional differential equations with deviating arguments and impulses: \[ \begin{aligned} u'(t)=f(t,u(t),v(t),u(\alpha(t))), & \quad t \neq t_k,\\ v'(t)=g(t,v(t),u(t),v(\alpha(t))), &\quad t \neq t_k,\\ \Delta u(t_k)= I_{k}(u(t_k)),\quad \Delta v(t_k)= Q_{k}(v(t_k)), & \quad k=1,2,\dots,m,\end{aligned} \] \[ g_1(u(0),u(T))=0,\quad g_2(v(0),\;v(T))=0, \] where \(T>0\), \(J=[0,T]\), \(f,\,g,\,g_1,\,g_2,\,I_k,\,Q_k\) and \(\alpha\) are continuous, \(0=t_0<t_1<\dots<t_m<t_{m+1}=T\), and \( \Delta u(t_k)=u(t_k^+)-u(t_k^-)\). After studying some comparison principles, and the uniqueness of a system of solutions for certain related linear problems, the monotone iterative technique provides the existence of an extremal system of solutions for the nonlinear boundary value problem in a bounded region, which can be obtained as the uniform limit of a pair of monotone sequences. The main result is also illustrated with an example.
