After Stanley's landmark papers on Hilbert functions of graded algebras, the study of level algebras has been of considerable interest. In this nice paper, the author gives examples which shows that codimension 3 level \(h\)-vectors need not be unimodal. These level algebras also show that codimension 3 level-algebras need not satisfy the weak Lefschetz property. Despite these negative results the reviewer expects many more interesting results in this area.
