Functional majorants for a linear parabolic problem were obtained by \textit{S. Repin} [Rend. Mat. Lincei. Ser. 9, 13, 121--133 (2002; Zbl 1221.65244)] and some applications of these estimates were given by \textit{A.V. Gaevskaya} et al. [Proc. 5 Rus. Sem. Grid Methods for Boundary Value Problems and Applications, Kazan, 40--43 (2004)]. The authors construct here majorants of the deviation from the exact solution for a wider class of linear parabolic problems and discuss their practical applications. Some numerical examples are also given to illustrate the efficiency of the estimates.
