Since the Jackson-Bernstein-Zygmund theorems related the rate of convergence of the best polynomial approximation (as the degree increases) to a function \(f\) to the smoothness of \(f\), an extensive and often beautiful literature developed on relating the rates of convergence to functions of important classes of approximates. The approximates in the present paper are specific linear combinations (with specific restrictions) of the Bernstein-Kantorvich operator applied to the function \(f\), being approximated. Only, here the authors consider the rate of convergence to \(f\) and simultaneously of the rate of convergence of the derivatives of the approximates to the derivative of \(f\). The authors show that the rates of convergence are related to a particular modulus of smoothness of the derivative of \(f\).
