The concept of ``fixed degree'' for fuzzy mappings which is a generalization of the concept of fixed point of both fuzzy mappings and set-valued mappings, is introduced and some properties are studied. Finally this study culminates in a generalization of the famous fixed point theorem of Ky Fan to the case of fuzzy mappings over locally convex topological vector spaces.
