On balls \(B_R\) centered at the origin of \(\mathbb{R}^n\) for \(n \geq 2\) the author proves optimal regularity results for weak solutions of the equation \[ -\Delta u + b \cdot \nabla u = 0 \] in dependence of the \(L_p\)-regularity of the coefficient \(b\) for \(p \geq 2\). First of all, it is known that it follows for \(p > n\) from the Sobolev embedding theorems that the solution \(u\) is Hölder continuous. In the case \(p \leq n\) the author presents the following results: 1) For \(p = n = 2\) there exist unbounded solutions of the equation. Moreover, there exist bounded solutions that are not Hölder continuous. However, if one additionally assumes that \(\operatorname{div} b = 0\), then a solution is \(\alpha\)-Hölder continuous for all \(\alpha < 1\). 2) For \(n \geq 3\) and \(p = n\) every solution is \(\alpha\)-Hölder continuous for all \(\alpha < 1\). 3) For \(n \geq 3\) and \(p < n\) there exist unbounded solutions of the equation. Moreover, there exist coefficients \(b \in L_p\) with \(\operatorname{div} b = 0\) and bounded solutions of the equation that are not continuous.
