It is well-known that a ring has dual Krull dimension if it is a ring with Krull dimension. Therefore it is quite natural to compare them. The paper shows that if a commutative ring \(R\) is Noetherian or with Krull dimension \(1\), or a maximal valuation domain with Krull dimension, respectively, then the dual dimension of an \(R\)-module \(M\) is not greater than the dimension of \(M\). This result is also true for modules over right Noetherian, right \(V\)-rings.
