\textit{N. Kawanaka} [Adv. Stud. Pure Math. 6, 175-206 (1985; Zbl 0573.20038)] has introduced generalized Gelfand-Graev representations (GGGR) \(\pi_{\eta}\) of a semisimple Lie group G, which are defined by unitary characters \(\eta\) of a certain subgroup U of G. Let \((\pi_{\sigma \nu},H_{\sigma \nu})\) be a representation of the principal series of G. The elements of the space \(Wh_{\eta}(H_{\sigma \nu})=\{T\in H^*_{\sigma \nu}|\) \(<T,\pi_{\sigma \nu}(u)f>=\eta (u)<T,f>\), \(u\in U\), \(f\in H_{\sigma \nu}\}\) are called Whittaker vectors of (U,\(\eta)\). The author gives a theorem on a uniqueness property of Whittaker vectors for GGGRs. Whittaker vectors are constructed through Whittaker integrals. An analytic continuation of Whittaker integrals is studied.
