    The article deals with solutions of some modifications for the classical Cauchy functional equation \[ f(x + x') = f(x) + f(x') \qquad (x,x',x + x' \in {\mathbb R}^n) \] (whose solutions are additive functions). In particular, horizontally min-additive, horizontally max-additive, and comonotonically additive functions are studied; in particular, a function \(f:\;{\mathbb R}^n \to {\mathbb R}\) is horizontally min-additive (horizontally max-additive) if \[ f(x) = (f(x \wedge c) + f(x - (x \wedge c)), \qquad (x \in {\mathbb R}^n, \;c \in {\mathbb R}), \] \[ f(x) = (f(x \vee c) + f(x - (x \vee c)), \qquad (x \in {\mathbb R}^n, \;c \in {\mathbb R}), \] here \(x \wedge c = ((x_1 \wedge c),(x_2 \wedge c),\dots,(x_n \wedge c))\) for \(x = (x_1,x_2,\dots,x_n)\) and in the same way for \(x \vee c\). The authors prove that the corresponding properties are equivalent and describe the analytical form of the classes of functions possessing these properties. Under some additional assumptions of regularity, the authors prove that these functions coincide with Lovásh extensions vanishing at the origin. Also, the class of horizontally median-additive functions is studied.
