In the main result of the present paper it is proved that if the derived category \(\mathbf{D}(\mathcal{A})\) of a complete abelian category \(\mathcal{A}\) which has an injective cogenerator is left complete then \(\mathbf{D}(\mathcal{A})\) has small hom-sets, and the dual \(\mathbf{D}(\mathcal{A})^{op}\) satisfies Brown representability.
