    The authors consider a sequence \(\{q_n\}\) of independent and identically distributed mean-zero random variables and the Hamiltonian of a charged polymer model \(H_n\), viz. \[ H_n : = \sum\sum_{1 \leq i < j \leq n} q_i q_j I_{S_i = S_j}, \] where \( \{S_i\}\) an independent simple random walk on \(\{{\mathbb Z}^d\}\), and study the limit behaviour of \(H_n\). They show that \(\{H_{[nt]}, 0 < t < 1\}\) behaves like a Brownian motion and discuss the law of iterated logarithm. This Hamiltonian was considered by \textit{Y. Kantor} and \textit{M. Kardar} [Europhys.\ Lett.\ 14, 421--426 (1991)] for the Bernoulli case and by \textit{B. Derrida}, \textit{B. Griffiths} and \textit{P. G. Higgs} [Europhys.\ Lett.\ 18, 361--366 (1992)] for the Gaussian case.
