The paper establishes the well-posedness of a random field solution to the nonlinear fractional stochastic heat equation in a spatial domain. The related upper and lower bounds on all the \(p\)th moments are obtained and related properties are also studied. All the proofs for these results are based on an initial condition that is taken to be a measure with possible non-compact support. During the discussion of the paper, an existing open problem is solved and the significant different behavior between the current and the standard heat equations is illustrated.
