The conjecture for torsion free elementary amenable groups was proved by \textit{J. Dodziuk, P. Linnell, V. Mathai, T. Schick} and \textit{S. Yates} [Commun. Pure Appl. Math. 56, No, 7, 839--873 (2003; Zbl 1036.58017)]. This result is extended for all amenable groups, using the quasi-tilings of \textit{D. S. Ornstein} and \textit{B. Weiss} [J. Anal. Math. 48, 1--141 (1987; Zbl 0637.28015)].
