Let \(A\) be a finite dimensional algebra over a field \(k\). The well--known theorem of Auslander states that the Auslander-Reiten quiver of \(A\) has a finite component if and only if the algebra \(A\) is of finite representation type. A triangulated analogue was obtained by \textit{S. Scherotzke} [J. Pure Appl. Algebra 215, No. 3, 232--241 (2011; Zbl 1251.16012)] which states that the Auslander-Reiten quiver (AR-quiver) of the derived category \({\mathbf{D}}^b (A)\) has a bounded stable component if and only if the algebra \(A\) is of finite representation type. In an earlier time, locally finite \(k\)-linear triangulated categories were studied by \textit{J. Xiao} and \textit{B. Zhu} [J. Algebra 290, No. 2, 473--490 (2005; Zbl 1110.16013)]. They proved that for such categories: 1) if the AR-quiver does not contain a loop, then the AR-quiver is of Dynkin type modulo an automorphism group; 2) if the AR-quiver does contain a loop, then the AR-quiver is of the form \(\hat{L}_n\). In the paper under review, the authors showed that for a connected, Hom-finite, Krull-Schmidt triangulated category, if the AR-quiver has a component of Dynkin tree class then that component is the entire AR-quiver. They also showed that if the AR-quiver has a component of extended Dynkin tree class, then other components must also have extended Dynkin class or one of a small set of infinite trees, provided there is a non-zero homomorphism between the components.
