Given a closed, unbounded subset \(E\subset\mathbb{R}\) of the real line, a domain \(\Omega=\mathbb{C}\backslash E\) is called a Denjoy domain. All points of \(E\) are assumed to be Dirichlet regular. A symmetric Martin function at infinity for \(\Omega\) is a non-zero, positive harmonic function \(M\) in \(\Omega\) such that \(M(\bar z)=M(z)\) and \(M\) vanishes on \(E\). In the case \(E\subset\mathbb{R}_-\), the negative semi-axis, considered in the paper, such function is known to exist and to be unique up to a positive constant factor. The authors study the problem of inner/outer factorization for entire functions \(f\) which have bounded characteristic in \(\Omega\). The latter property is defined via the universal covering and lifting to the upper half plane. The main result looks as follows. Theorem 1. Let \(f\) be an entire function having the bounded characteristic in \(\Omega=\mathbb{C}\backslash E\), \(E\subset\mathbb{R}_-\), such that \[ \limsup_{x\to +\infty}\frac{\log |f(x)|}{M(x)}=h, \] where \(M\) is the Martin function for \(\Omega\). Then \[ f=B_\Omega\cdot f_{\mathrm{out}}\cdot e^{a(M+i\widetilde M)}\,, \qquad a\geq h, \] where \(\widetilde M\) is the harmonic conjugate of \(M\), \(B_\Omega\) is the Blaschke product in \(\Omega\), \(f_{\mathrm{out}}\) is the outer part of \(f\).
