The authors present and analyse pipeline implementations of Neumann-Neumann (NNWR) and Dirichlet-Neumann waveform relaxation (DNWR) methods for solving parabolic and hyperbolic partial differential equations in parallel. The proposed approaches are described for one-dimensional time-dependent problems. A review on the basic ideas of waveform relaxation methods is given. The main idea of the new approach is the decomposition of the time interval \([0,T]\) into non-overlapping subintervals. A pseudo-code for the pipeline implementation of the NNWR and the DNWR methods is given. Furthermore, the communication and the parallel efficiency of the new algorithms are analysed. For each method, a numerical example is presented which shows its efficiency.
