Extension of Wiener-Wintner double recurrence theorem to polynomials (Q1790630): Difference between revisions

\textit{I. Assani} et al. proved in [Ergodic Theory Dyn. Syst. 36, No. 4, 1037--1066 (2016; Zbl 1353.37006)] an extension of \textit{J. Bourgain}'s [J. Reine Angew. Math. 404, 140--161 (1990; Zbl 0685.28008)] pointwise result on Wiener-Wintner double recurrence. In the current paper, the authors go even further, by proving a similar result in the case of a polynomial exponent. Furthermore they show that an appropriate Host-Kra-Ziegler factor, depending on the degree of the polynomial, is a characteristic factor for the averages therein.
