Let \(A\) be a simple \(\mathbb Q\)-algebra which is not a skew-field, and let \(R\) be the maximal order in the centre of \(A\). A pair of maximal \(R\)-orders in \(A\) is isomorphic if and only if their unit groups are conjugate. The paper deals with the question to describe isomorphism classes of unit groups. They depend, e.g., on the number of conjugacy classes of maximal finite subgroups. The authors prove that maximal finite subgroups arise as certain automorphism groups, using a variant of Voronoi's algorithm.
