The authors introduce a method to study the compactness of bounded subsets of some Banach spaces in terms of generalized continuous frames. They associate a coorbit theory converting spaces of functions on a locally compact space endowed with a Radon measure into spaces of vectors of a Hilbert space \(H\), where a generalized continuous frame indexed by the locally compact space is given. They also introduce the concept of tightness of a bounded subset of a Banach space endowed with a structure of Banach left module over a normed algebra. Then they characterize the relative compactness of bounded subsets of Hilbert spaces, coorbit spaces, bounded operator spaces in terms of tightness of a family of Banach module structures, where the modules are constructed using continuous frames. Finally, they consider the magnetic version of the pseudo-differential calculus.
