The results of [\textit{A. Mellet} and \textit{A. Vasseur}, SIAM J. Math. Anal. 39, No. 4, 1344--1365 (2008; Zbl 1141.76054)] are generalized for the case of the degenerate viscosity coefficients with initial data admitting vacuum. The isentropic law for pressure is considered and the viscosity is considered as a power \(\alpha \geq\) of the density. The initial data are considered bounded in some particular Lebesgue spaces. The \(L^1\) norm of density and two particular forms of energy are considered bounded on the time interval \((0,T)\). Then a weak-strong uniqueness theorem on \([0,T]\) is obtained, by using a Gronwall argument. A related result is also [\textit{H. Wen} and \textit{L. Yao}, J. Math. Anal. Appl. 349, No. 2, 503--515 (2009; Zbl 1184.35252)], where the initial density may vanish in an open subset, but only the bounded one-dimensional case is considered.
