The deformations of a polytope \(\mathcal{P}\) form a polyhedral cone under dilation and Minkowski addition, called the deformation cone of \(\mathcal{P}\). The authors study the deformations of the graphical zonotopes and the nestohedra. A graphical zonotope is a Minkowski sum of edges of the standard simplex and a nestohedron is a simple polytope realizing the nested complex of an arbitrary building set. In the present manuscript, the authors provide complete irredundant descriptions of the deformations cones of the above two families of hypergraphic polytopes. They also prove that the faces of the standard simplex contained in these deformation cones provide a linear basis of their vector span, a result that extends to all polytopes obtained as Minkowski sums of faces of the standard simplex.
