Left braces were introduced as a generalization of Jacobson radical rings in connection with the solutions of the set-theoretic Yang-Baxter equation. The Yang-Baxter equation, which is related to the classical integrable systems and quantum groups, originated from the seminal works of C. N. Yang and R. J. Baxter. In this paper, the notion of weakly trivial skew braces is proposed to get that every two-sided skew brace is the extension of such skew braces by a two-sided brace. As an application, some known results associated with the additive and multiplicative group of two-sided skew braces are generalized. Further, for a given two-sided skew brace \(A\), the result that \(A\) is semiprime (prime) if and only if it is strongly semiprime (prime) is proved.
