The authors construct two families of partial difference sets in \(\mathbb{Z}^t_4\times \mathbb{Z}^t_2\) (and therefore of associated strongly regular Cayley graphs) which have the same parameters as two families of partial difference sets associated with certain Denniston maximal arcs in Desarguesian projective planes of even order. More precisely, the authors obtain examples corresponding to the cases of hyperovals resp. their dual maximal arcs; of course, the classical geometric examples live in the corresponding elementary abelian groups. As far as the reviewer is aware, these are the first examples of PDS's with ``Denniston parameters'' in non-elementary abelian groups. The construction uses Galois rings.
