The scalar product of two formal Dirichlet series is a new series of the same kind, whose coefficients are products of the respective coefficients of the initial series. The paper is a survey of the author's results on analytic continuation of the scalar product of the Hecke-Draxl \(L\)-series and its applications to the problem of distribution of integer points on affine toric varieties. For the details see, in particular, the papers by the author: \textit{B. Z. Moroz} [Proc. Lond. Math. Soc., III. Ser. 56, No. 2, 209--228 (1988; Zbl 0608.12014); Q. J. Math., Oxf. II. Ser. 50, No. 197, 37--47 (1999; Zbl 0923.11098)].
