The author studies inversion formulae for the hyperbolic Radon transform on the unit disc. Two different Radon transforms can be defined here, using either integration along geodesics or along horocycles, and the problem of inverting these transforms has been studied previously by various authors. The main new contribution of this paper is twofold: First, the author includes attenuation in his discussion. In terms of proof technique, he introduces a new approach to the hyperbolic setting, adapted from a method developed by \textit{R. G. Novikov} [Inverse Probl. 18, No. 3, 677--700 (2002; Zbl 1004.44001); Ark. Mat. 40, No. 1, 145--167 (2002; Zbl 1036.53056)] for the Euclidean setting, which relates the inversion problem to a Riemann-Hilbert problem. The resulting inversion formulae are in close analogy to the well-known filtered backprojection formula for the Euclidean case.
