This paper deals with the transformation of point processes - modeling the firing activity of neurons - into continuous random functions. A model is proposed attempting to explain the generation of flicker noise. The spectrum of the flicker noise is obtained, and has an \(\omega^{-a}\) behavior where \(a\in [0,1]\). The analysis of the point process describing the neutral activity is fairly standard.
