A sequence \(\{z_k\}\) of points in the unit ball \(B^n\subset{\mathbb C}^n\) is said uniformly discrete if there exists \(\delta>0\) such that \(k_B(z_i,z_j)\geq\delta\) for all \(i\neq j\), where \(k_B\) is the Bergman (or Kobayashi) distance in the unit ball. \textit{P. Duren} and \textit{R. Weir} in ''The pseudohyperbolic metric and Bergman spaces in the ball'' [Trans. Am. Math. Soc., in press] proved that if \(\{z_k\}\) is an uniformly discrete sequence in \(B^n\) with \(z_k\neq O\) for all \(k\), then \[ \sum_{k=1}^\infty (1-\| z_k\| )^n\left(\log{1\over 1-\| z_k\| } \right)^{-(1+\varepsilon)}<+\infty \] for all \(\varepsilon>0\). In this paper the author shows that this result is the best possible, in the sense that there exists an uniformly discrete sequence \(\{z_k\}\) in \(B^n\) with \(z_k\neq O\) for all \(k\) such that \[ \sum_{k=1}^\infty (1-\| z_k\| )^n\left(\log{1\over 1-\| z_k\| } \right)^{-1}=+\infty\;. \]
