Local spacings along curves (Q868820): Difference between revisions

The authors study how the spacing distribution function deforms via smooth maps between curves. As an example, they give explicit formulas for the nearest neighbor spacing distribution function of torsion points on elliptic curves over \(R\). The distribution coincides locally with the distribution of Farey fractions. Furthermore, the nearest neighbor spacing distribution function of rational points on the unit circle is explicitly determined.
