The authors develop analytical methods for nonlinear equations of Dirac type. Examples of such equations include for instance Dirac-harmonic maps with curvature term and the equations describing the generalized Weierstrass representation of surfaces in three-manifolds. The paper proposes key analytical tools for the study of these equations, such as small energy regularity and removable singularity theorems and energy identities for the solutions.
