On the existence of global bisections of Lie groupoids (Q1034322): Difference between revisions

The authors show that every source-connected Lie groupoid has a compact-supported bisection through any given point, which is the multiplication of the exponentials of some sections. This section can be chosen as close as possible to a prescribed curve. The existence of bisections through more than one prescribed point is discussed in the case of transitive groupoids with special base spaces. Some applications of these results are given.
