The authors present sufficient conditions for the existence of multiple solutions to a second order impulsive differential equation with a parameter on the half line. The main result is based on a three critical point theorem obtained by \textit{G. Bonanno} and \textit{S. A. Marano} in [Appl. Anal. 89, No.~1, 1--10 (2010; Zbl 1194.58008)].
