Let \(G\) be a group definable in some o-minimal expansion of an ordered group, \(H\) be a definable finite extension of \(G\). It is shown that, if \(G\) is defined in a reduct, then \(H\) is also definable in the reduct. A similar result is obtained for finite topological extensions of a definable group defined in some o-minimal expansion of the ordered set of real numbers.
