The author studies optimization problems with complementarity constraints defined by nonpolyhedric cones in Banach spaces, proving a number of new results in this direction, among which some on the stationarity and optimality conditions and some preliminary ones that are of interest on their own as well. A special case where these conditions become simpler is given, too, while the new results are then applied to optimization problems with semidefinite and second-order cone complementarity constraints, in both situations the strong stationarity of the local minimizers being derived under variants of the classical LICQ regularity condition. Some results from the literature are obtained as special cases of the new investigations.
