This is the second part of the study began with [the first author, ibid. 218, No. 4, 430--502 (2016; Zbl 1352.49015)], being dedicated to presenting a complete theory of the first and higher symmetric Fréchet differentials and \(K\)-subdifferentials, that includes, for instance, a mean value statement, a Taylor type formula and Schwartz type results. Now and then well chosen examples illustrate the theoretical constructions. Applications to Fourier series and variational functionals as well as various connections to the existing literature are discussed, while in the closing remarks possible applications in the theory of extremal problems are briefly mentioned.
