The aim of the authors is to obtain new singular Trudinger-Moser type inequalities for radial Sobolev spaces with logarithmic weights. In a second step, they generalize the result to the whole space \(\mathbb R^n\). This generalization, which is not trivial, even in the absence of the singular term, is new and interesting in itself. In the last part of the paper, as an application of the previously obtained results, the authors prove the existence of at least two nontrivial solutions for a singular elliptic equation where the presence, in the known term, of a Carathéodory function enjoying a doubly exponential growth at infinity governed by the Trudinger-Moser inequality is pointed out. The proofs rely on variational methods.
