Employing Hazony's theory of the cascade synthesis of passive \(n\)-ports, a simple new procedure of interpolation with symmetric positive-real matrices is presented. The problem related to interpolation with rational lossless positive-real matrices is also discussed. The results of the paper can be considered as a matrix extension of the Youla-Saito scalar interpolation theory.
