Let \(F\) be a field of characteristic not two. Denote by \(\mathsf{I}^{l} (F)\subseteq\mathsf{W} (F)\) the \(l\)th power of the fundamental ideal \(\mathsf{I} (F)\), which is the ideal generated by the even dimensional forms in the Witt ring of \(F\). The paper proves that if the index of every tensor product of quaternion algebras over \(F\) is \(\leq 2^{n}\) then \(\mathsf{I}^{2n+2}(F(\sqrt{-1}))\) is trival and \(\mathsf{I}^{2n+2}(F)\) is torsion free.
