Motivated by the Brill-Noether theory of curves on a \(K3\) surface \(X\), particularly, globally-generated rank-\(2\) arithmetically Cohen-Macaulay (aCM, for short) bundle on \(X\) should be characterized, an important problem is that whether or not a given aCM bundle on a hypersurface \(X\) in \(\mathbb{P}^4\) of degree \(4\) splits. The aim of the paper under review is to show that \(\mathcal{O}_{X}(C)\) is aCM. More precisely, the author studies under the following setting. Let \(X\) be a smooth quartic surface in \(\mathbb{P}^3\) (that is, a \(K3\) surface) together with an initialized aCM line bundle \(B\not=0\) on \(X\). Note that if one takes a a curve \(C\) of genus \(g\geq3\) on \(X\), and a base-point free divisor \(Z\) of degree \(d\) on \(C\) s.t. \(h^0(\mathcal{O}_C(Z))=2\), one can define the Lazarsfeld-Mukai bundle (of rank \(2\)) \(E_{C,Z}\), which is the dual of the kernel of the evaluation map of \(H^0(\mathcal{O}_C(Z))\otimes \mathcal{O}_X\). Suppose \(\mathcal{O}_X(C)\in\mathbb{Z}h\oplus\mathbb{Z}B\), and \(E_{C,Z}\) is indecomposable, initialized, and aCM (\(h\) is the hyperplane class of \(X\)). The proof of the main theorem is used a classification of initialized aCM line bundles on \(X\) by giving an explicit numerical characterization due to the author.
