The necessity of a fuzzy number \(\xi\) belonging to an interval \((a,b)\) is defined as \(\text{Nes}(a< \xi< b)= 1-\sup_{x\not\in D} \xi(x)\). Let be \(\xi_1,\dots, \xi_n,\dots\) a sequence of fuzzy numbers, \(\overline\xi_n\) the \(T\)-arithmetic mean of \(\xi_1,\dots, \xi_n\) w.r.t. a t-norm \(T\) and \(m_n\) the modal value of \(\overline\xi_n\). The sequence \(\xi_1,\dots, \xi_n\) obeys the law of large numbers if for all \(\varepsilon> 0\), \(\text{Nes}(m_n- \varepsilon<\overline\xi_n< m_n+\varepsilon)\) tends to \(1\) for \(n\to\infty\). For Archimedean t-norms \(T\), the authors generalize results by \textit{R. Fuller} [Fuzzy Sets Syst. 45, No. 3, 299-303 (1992; Zbl 0748.60003)] and \textit{E. Triesch} [Fuzzy Sets Syst. 58, No. 3, 339-342 (1993; Zbl 0788.60041)] for sequences where the diameter of the support of the fuzzy numbers is not uniformly bounded. They apply the results to Yager's, Dombi's and Hamacher's parameterized t-norms.
