For a locally compact abelian group \(G\) and a commutative Banach algebra \(B\), let \(L^1(G, B)\) be the Banach algebra of \(B\)-valued Bochner integrable functions on \(G\). In this paper, the authors study the disjointness preserving maps between the algebras \(L^1(G, B)\). By using the vector-valued Fourier transform, the authors provide a complete description of continuous disjointness preserving maps on \(L^1(G, B)\), and give criteria of compactness for these maps.
