Spectra of orbifolds with cyclic fundamental groups (Q303655): Difference between revisions

The paper under review gives a simple geometric characterization of isospectral orbifolds having cyclic fundamental groups and covered by compact symmetric spaces of real rank one. Here, isospectral means that the Laplace-Beltrami operators on the orbifolds in question have the same spectrum. An explicit description of the spectra of such differential operators is given in terms of generating functions. The results are illustrated by many examples.
