The paper under review completes the classification of all simple weight modules with finite dimensional weight spaces for the Lie algebra of vector fields on an \(n\)-dimensional torus, for any \(n\). The authors prove a conjecture by Eswara Rao which asserts that any such module is either a highest weight type module or is a quotient of a module of tensor fields on a torus. The proof relies on a careful study of coinduced modules and of annihilators of cuspidal modules.
