The paper uses the method of lines to solve the system of time-dependent Stokes equations to obtain a system of differential-algebraic equations. By taking advantage of its structure, a class of waveform relaxation methods called continuous-time accelerated block successive overrelaxation is proposed to solve the obtained system of differential-algebraic equations. The proposed methods are theoretically analyzed. The theory is applied to a two-dimensional time-dependent Stokes equation and verified by numerical experiments.
